“Kreuzberg” is a view of a building perched on the rim of a canal off the Spree River in Berlin. Francesca was deeply enthralled by this view as it presents graffiti lettering reminiscent of Byzantine script. A landscape offering this juxtaposition between the graffiti painted on the post-war apartment building, next to bare winter trees, and ultramarine blue waters is surreal.
